Progesterone is a female hormone that is secreted during intercourse and which boosts up the process of pregnancy. It is also secreted in the women menstrual cycle. Thus, the decreased rate of infertility has also been accredited to this hormone. After performing tests, the women who have a decreased level of progesterone throughout the period of their menstrual cycle have been found to be more prone to being infertile. Even if the women achieve the pregnancy level, the danger to the womb is still evident and it can often result in a miscarriage. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is yet another reason for infertility in women. PCOS and infertility are like synonymous in more than 5% cases. The disorder affects mostly, the women who are in their puberty age.
